Today he is back to his country, which after the collapse of communism, has resumed the name of Russia. His first visit is for Masha, a beautiful young woman he knew as a child. At the time when Masha was a teenager Aleksander was to marry her mother, Anna, but fell in love with the daughter. Frightened of a situation he himself thought immoral, Aleksander ran away from the two women. Now Anna is married to a wealthy businessman and Masha is engaged.
