As the national ambulance service was not able to fulfill its task, the young medical students and doctors of the hospital maintained a voluntary return service, whose leading figure was Géza Péch. During the reprisals following the revolution, Géza Péch was sentenced to death on charges of leading an anti-state conspiracy and disloyalty and was executed in April 1958. See less
