When he meets Helene Larouch (Anouk Aimee), he woos her although she is married to Andre (Francois Maistre), until finally the combination of his youth, exuberance, absurd family (including a few infants of undetermined origin and a number of stray dogs)and eccentric way of life compared to the aridity of her marriage, overcome her resistance.
