In Tbilisi, Georgia, cameras capture what the narrator describes as a fight between police and students. Daily Soviet life is represented, from women performing heavy labor to a state-sponsored fashion show. The film also makes note of the Sputnik spaceship launches, depicting Russian university students as future scientists. Scenes include children playing in a park, sailboats cruising the Ukraine, crude shanty towns, a trip through a government-owned grocery store and the cathedrals of pre-Soviet Russia. See less
