The Japanese military is enlisting all the men in the land. A newlywed lawyer, whose marriage is a mere couple of months' long, is informed by letter that he has been drafted and has to report for war. Not only is the man a newlywed who does not want to join the war effort, but he also has a weak constitution and is anti-war. His wife implores the general in charge to exclude him from the draft, but instead the officer reports the man to the government as someone with dangerous ideas.
