Other than begging the question of why he was pursuing mountain climbing to begin with, it does serve as a starting point for the plot. He refuses to climb it as part of a rescue party, which earns him the scorn of a guide (Gilbert Roland) who is his rival for the love of a local girl (Anna Lee). He finally agrees to make the climb and, during the ascent, the guide tries to kill him. Written by Les Adams See less
