The most conspicuous is a tall tragedian. When he escapes from his keepers the superintendent concludes that he will naturally make his way to the theater in search of an engagement. The various managers are notified, and the first man that excites suspicion is Montgomery Irving, a poor actor of the antique type, who honestly and vociferously applies for a position. He does not understand why he is detained without a contract, and is about to pull the house down when the manager receives word that the real "dip" has been recaptured elsewhere.
