Jacqueline Murphy is an award-winning actress, director, and filmmaker. Her fantasy TV series Sorceress of Hollywood (2025) has garnered significant acclaim, winning Best Fantasy Film on the film festival circuit and earning five Telly Awards (Best Film, Directing, Acting, Cinematography, and Social Media Video).

Her earlier work includes the multi-award-winning series The Admired (2017), which she created, starred in, produced, directed, and co-wrote. The Admired has won over 50 film festival awards worldwide and was featured on the FYC Emmy® nomination ballot.

Jacqueline appears in the comedy series Business People (2025) as HR consultant "Nina," bringing warmth and heart to the ensemble cast. She is on the 2025 Emmy® nomination round ballot (FYC) for Outstanding Performer in a Short Form Comedy/Drama, while the series itself is also on the ballot for Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series.

Business People originated from the Television Academy's Performers Peer Circle Group, which Jacqueline was appointed to moderate in 2024 and proudly continues to lead in her second year.

Jacqueline stars in her own show, Entertainment with Jacqueline Murphy (2024), on the 2025 Emmy® ballot for Daytime Special and Daytime Personality.

She hosts and reports for Entertainment Today (1992), covering red carpet events and interviewing stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, Harry Hamlin, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, and also contributes as a published writer with her own column for Entertainment and Sports Today. Her writing has also appeared in the American Film Market, Digital Hollywood, and other industry platforms. Her passion for storytelling extends to travel, with video diaries from journeys across Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, and beyond.

For two consecutive years - 2023 & 2024, Jacqueline Murphy was honored by the New York State Assembly & Schneps Media as "Power Woman". She was awarded for her outstanding work as a fearless woman in filmmaking (as an Actress, Producer, Screenwriter, & Director), making New York a thriving, vibrant place to work, live, and do business.

Her screen credits include Run All Night (2015) (with Liam Neeson & Ed Harris), Cop Out (2010), Golden Key (2013), and The Paper (1994) . TV credits include guest starring in "Law & Order" franchises and is known for playing Lawyer Emily Trudeau in Semi-Professional (2002) and Law & Order (1990) as Nurse Lloyd.

She began her career as an actress in NYC. She had the good fortune to work in films with directors such as Martin Scorsese in "Goodfellas", Woody Allen in "Radio Days" & "Hannah and Her Sisters", Mike Nichols in "Regarding Henry" and "Wolf," Ron Howard "The Paper", Nora Ephron in "Mixed Nuts", Barbet Schroeder in "Kiss of Death" and "Reversal of Fortune", Leonard Nimoy "3 Men & A Baby" and Kevin Smith in "Cop Out". She was inspired by these great directors and decided to expand her career into directing, producing, and writing.

Jacqueline has her Registered Nurse license (BSN), and after completing acting school at AADA & Stella Adler, she was discovered by ABC's "All My Children," where she had a recurring role as "Nurse Thomas," and on "Guiding Light," she recurred as Darlene. She continued to play many nurses & doctors in television and film and also medically consulted on set and was cast in NYC TV pilots "N.Y.J.D" as a tough lawyer, Meryl, and "Upper East Side" as socialite Christina Larraby. Her comedic roles includes"The Cheerleader Coach" in a National Geico spot airing with the Caveman & NFL Star Brian Orakpo.

Among her favorite theatre roles, she played the lead role of Kate Keller (Helen Keller's mom) in The Miracle Worker at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, directed by Murphy Davis. Other Theatre credits include the lead roles of Lynn Roberts in "Take it To the Bank" and Fremda the James Bond Girl at the Neighborhood Playhouse. She originated the role of Linda in "Merry Christmas Baby" at Playwrights Horizon and performed in Guild Hall Theatre East Hamptons-75th Anniversary as Edith in "The Women."

Born in New York, she grew up on Long Island and is the oldest of six children. Her mother was an artist and could play any song on the piano and accordion just by hearing it. Jacqueline also plays piano. An avid painter, she studied Art and Art History at Hunter College. In addition to her love for painting, playing piano, and her other interests, she also taught Yoga.

Jacqueline's charitable work includes hosting events such as The Women's Project Gala, honoring Eve Ensler, Vivian Tam, and Kathy Hilton, and The Asia Society's 50th Anniversary, honoring Ang Lee, Mia Lynn, and Vivian Tam. She has also worked with disabled children, serves on the committee for The Pony Awards, and at the Marymount Center for Children, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and resources for children and families facing various challenges.

Since 2012, Jacqueline has been a Voting Member of the Television Academy, as well as a member of The Creative Coalition and New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT). Her film The Admired was selected by NYWIFT to be screened for its membership.

Fueled by her experience as a Registered Nurse and a deep compassion for those affected by the opioid crisis, Jacqueline is writing the feature film Yellowbird and the Titan-Yellowbird and the TItan-a powerful and personal story that aims to shine a light on addiction, healing, and hope. Inspired by real-life struggles and the urgent need for change, this project is her most meaningful yet. She is also developing new episodes of The Admired and writing the feature-length adaptation Sorceress of Hollywood (2025), continuing her mission to create stories that move, inspire, and make a difference.
