When Jake Taylor, a middle aged man and single father of a high school senior, finds out that his son, josh is on the verge of suicide, he commits to the ultimate sacrifice. Jake Taylor makes a deal with the devil. The devil being Lady Evans, a psychic and palm reader at dark Lady's Palm Readings.Lady Evans transforms Jake into his son Josh, to take his place at school, and make things right. For two weeks, Jake attends school as his son Josh. During this time, he shifts the balance of power, gains social acceptance from his peers, and wins the love and affection of the head cheerleader, Theresa Higgins. After making things right for his son, Jake pays his debt to Lady Evans. When Josh returns to school, he is amazed to find out, that the nerd, has turned into the most popular student on campus and is dating a girl , he thought, he couldn't even dream about.
