He returns to the case of his patient, the young student who has cancer. He's torn between his role as a therapist and his desire to save a young woman's life. Dita comments on Marek's unease, likens him to a trapped animal, and draws attention to his stubbornness regarding his father... Upon his return home, Marek is surprised to find that his supposedly indifferent family has gathered to celebrate his birthday.
