Jason decides to enter, trained by his friends, and ultimately he and the previously unbeaten Heptarian are the finalists, Jason becoming a popular winner. Ariadne uses this as an excuse to persuade Minos that Heptarian's defeat is a sign that the marriage is not favoured by the gods.
