Jamie asks Laura round for a romantic evening after his parents have gone out - though it comes to nothing, much like the Derbyshire's weekend in Paris, which Janet uses to tell her husband she has a job in New York. Laura and Jamie do finally get it together and, fleeing an A level result party, make out at the Derbyshires.
