For an excuse he lies that Shazia 'did the naughtiness' with the Parvezes' son, which leads a depressed Amjad to disappear, though Dave brings him back. After Khan has admitted his lie, he is forced to endorse Shazia's view that what she did before meeting Amjad is her business, which causes Amjad's mother to try to cancel the wedding.
