Abilene's only way of escaping is to read from her collection of books, where she can lose herself in a dream world of fairy tales, romance, and exotic lands. Then, one day by chance, while out gathering firewood, she encounters a charming and handsome man, Gabriel. He showers her with attention and offers her an escape from her dull life.
