Ali needs the money as Davina aims to sue her on trumped-up charges of stealing her designs, bribing Alex, Ali's gay flatmate, into helping her, though Marco gets wind of it, persuades Alex to do the right thing and blackmails Davina into backing off. Though Caroline withdraws her offer, designer friend Lydia comes up with the cash. Ali's love life with despatch rider Chris improves whilst another of her old workmates at Davina's, Mimi,starts an affair with married publisher Anthony Chatsworth.
