Writers and artists born in Israel are trying to describe their relationship to the religious dimension of Hebrew. The voice of some resonates with that of others, the words light up mutually, sometimes contradict each other: no version is necessary. The film deals with poetry and politics, religion and laity. It asks questions that are not irrelevant in other contexts. All modern and apparently secular languages are imbued with centuries of religious history, of which they still bear the marks.
