Merlin is attacked in Camelot by a member of a mysterious order which he says means to kill King Arthur. Merlin, Valiant, and Denys go to warn him and deliver Excalibur. Along the way, Merlin tells them that the group, the Black Rose, were enemies of King Arthur's family years before, and explains how Arthur ascended to the throne.
