Lionel then joins her and Caroline dies in his arms having made him promise to bring her back to Georgia where she is originally from. Brick tries to comfort Jane, then Lionel. By learning this news, Laken, tearful, quickly finds her father. Alex comes to inform C.C. that Caroline died and that the tests which he had in his possession to commercialise the vaccine were rigged. C.C. then goes to Lionel and asks him for right to practice an autopsy on Caroline to determine what killed her. But Lionel refuses. Pressure builds up on Mason, still pushed by one of his abductors to sign the secret documents. In the desert, Jeffrey goes to a bar in search of information. The Indian drugs him without him knowing it, and opens the propane tank in the van where Kelly is sleeping.
