He imagines that they slept together. Jane and Brick accompany Cruz to a garage where the ambulance which kidnapped Johnny was spotted. But they return empty-handed. Johnny is in fact to be sent to Chicago where, under the name of Fernando, he should be adopted by a new family. Pearl, Jane and Brick go to watch departures at the airport of Santa Barbara, but miss Johnny by a few. Mason asks Julia not to repeat what she heard the day before on the telephone. Cain leaves the cabin and hides Eden's crutches, fearing that she desires to be returned to the family. On his return, he does not find Eden anymore and gets in a state, while she is only in two steps behind him. He ends however up apologising for having once again lost temper.
