When he can't rouse Dennis, Charley and Barbara for another round of dancing and merriment, he heads downtown and breaks his glasses pursuing a young woman a third of his age. A gangster making a payoff to a crooked politician spots the old man starring at him, not realizing he's almost blind without his spectacles and lures him to his penthouse with the promise of a party with the intention of bumping him off at the end of the festivities.
