When he confronts Rita with thinking he killed Joe, Rita denies and tells him she believes him. Ada interrupts them, being mad at Rita for sneaking out. Sgt. Goddard visits the Chernak home, questioning them about Joe. However, Mrs. Chernak is still in shock.
