The police are called in. They contact the army to help with the search. Colin is catatonic. Detective Inspector Patterson finds out that Elsie was the last one to see Jason before he was snatched. He thinks Jason was awake at the time. A policewoman sits with Karen. Patterson asks the residents if there's anyone local who might be capable of snatching Jason but they're reluctant to name people. Ena is shocked when she is summoned from the Preston Guild.
