Tom Morton, her husband, heartbroken and desperate, lets go of everything and sinks about as far down as a man can. He falls into good hands, however, and is restored to a sense of reason and tries hard work as an antidote for bitter reflection. His wife, now a cast-off plaything, finds him and begs forgiveness.
