When Sister Bertrille goes in to do the convent laundry, little does she know that Harry Madison and Eddie, a commercial producer and cameraman, are shooting a candid camera commercial for Delight laundry detergent. Sister Bertrille is using Delight, much to their pleasure. She ends up being the perfect spokesperson for the detergent. Part of the compensation for doing the commercial is a new washing machine. The Reverend Mother however refuses to let Sister Bertrille be part of a commercial, even if it does mean not getting the washing machine. It is a bit more difficult for Sister Bertrille to back out of it as she did sign the release form and Harry will not let her out of the contract. When she asks Carlos to help her get out of the contract, Carlos hatches a plan to make Sister Bertrille look crazy by having her talk about flying. She not only appears crazy, but Carlos tells Harry that she's not really a nun, but a go-go dancer, one that he also implies has connections to the mafia (Sister Bertrille is supposedly hiding out at the convent from the mafia). Harry is now more than happy to let Sister Bertrille out of the contract, just as the Reverend Mother gets the OK from the bishop for Sister Bertrille to appear in the commercial. Sister Bertrille cannot convince Harry to use her footage. But when she mentions that she will sacrifice her private convent life for the betterment of the convent, Harry takes this as exposing her to the mafia, and as such, he decides to give the convent the washing machine. Now Harry needs to shoot another commercial, and the sisters, one by one, enter the laundromat extolling the merits of Delight - they need a new dryer as well. Written by Huggo See less
