Robin tries to follow them but loses their trail. Later, in searching for the discarded clothing, he is shot at. This angers him enough to make him insist on getting to the bottom of the mystery. His investigations lead him to uncover a gang which has been defrauding Insurance Companies by substituting the bodies of friendless people for insured risks, thus enabling them to collect from various companies on many policies. Robin catches up with the gang in time to prevent their killing a girl who was slated to be used as their next victim - the supposed "wife" of one of them. See less
