The Writer chronicles the tale of Joshua Knowne (Jeff Jordan), who suffers from a horrific series of nightmares until he meets a psychiatrist named Dr. Solomon (Becker) that recognizes his gift. Joshua learns his nightmares are linked to his power: they enable him to see the pain others are experiencing. He must take that knowledge, then, and compose dreams which show people an end to their suffering.
