Hyppolite, the Hypnotist, discharges one of his assistants for being so impertinent as to ask for some money, and hires Bill to be a "horse," as the fake subjects are called. Bill doesn't like the idea until he sees that Dolly, a decidedly attractive young woman, is also a "horse." Eventually Bill and Hyppolite come to blows over Dolly and the "horses" kick him out, because they think he has been holding out salaries on them. Bill puts on a beard and turns hypnotist himself. All might have gone well had not Hyppolite, walking back to New York, stopped to ask for a hand-out from Betsy, who sits mourning over Bill's picture. He tells where Bill is and that night there are two in the audience who take an unusual interest in the performance. Indeed the entire audience feels that money's worth has been given, and Hyppolite gets the show back. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
