Smith and Jones come around Dora and Mabel, Smith's and Jones, fiancés, want to go to the art exhibition and go to Brown's house to ask their escort. Brown receives a telegram telling him that his Uncle Richard will surprise him with a visit and see how he is conducting himself. Brown advises his guests to take their girls to the art exhibition. Richard arrives before they can get away. Mabel, unknown to Brown, has hid behind the curtains, and Brown, in his confusion, has told Dora that in case Richard should find her to tell him she is his wife. But Richard discovers Mabel first, and Mabel tells him she is Brown's wife. Richard sees Jones, whom Brown has introduced as his friend, kissing the supposed Mrs. Brown. Richard is shocked at the wife of his nephew. Dora, in trying to escape is caught by Richard, and tells him she is Brown's wife. Richard tells Brown that he will have nothing to do with a bigamist and leaves. At the station he meets Mrs. Brown, who has sprained her ankle. Uncle Richard offers to assist her to her home, and is shocked again when he discovers she also is his nephew's wife. Learning that her husband has supposedly two more wives, the real Mrs. Brown faints. Richard carries her into the house and, accusing Brown of being a trigamist, calls the police. Smith and Jones explain everything to the relief of all concerned. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
