The year is 1685, shortly after King Louis XIV revoked the Edict of Nantes. The Protestants have become enemies of the state overnight and as such are persecuted by a special army corps called the "Dragoons". Through them, the Huguenots who refuse to convert to Catholicism are hunted, silenced, tortured or even hanged. And yet, that is not an easy task for Boutré, the commander of the Dragoons.
