Airing on Friday & Saturday nights, it featured back-to-back videos played in marathon stretches that extended well into Sunday morning. Night Tracks differed from MTV with a more genre-diverse playlist, with an emphasis in r&b, dance-music and less-mainstream fare. A highlight of the show was that off-air vee-jay's kept chatter to a minimum.
