Natalie secures a position as typist in the office of Murchison, the lawyer who had represented her in the divorce proceedings. As time passes, Jack finds that he still loves his former wife. His newly-acquired freedom grows distasteful. Jack is startled to find Natalie working as a typist, when business takes him to the lawyer's office. Bitterly reproaching himself for the conduct which had resulted in the divorce, Jack vainly pleads for forgiveness. Murchison falls in love with the girl. In need of the pittance he pays her, Natalie submits to his crude attempts at love-making. Several days later, Murchison calls upon Jack while the latter is giving a dinner to some friends. Of a forward nature, the lawyer invites himself to the feast. As the dinner progresses, Murchison becomes intoxicated. He coarsely announces his intention of winning Natalie. Wild with rage, Jack throws the man out of the house. Unable to endure the thought of Natalie as Murchison's wife, Jack orders his butler to summon a minister. The young man hastens to Natalie's boarding house. Brushing past the indignant landlady, he enters the girl's room just in time to see her kiss his picture. He orders Natalie to don her hat and coat and accompany him. In reply to her protests, he informs her that she still loves him, else she would not have kissed his photograph. The two return to the Thorpe mansion where the minister awaits them. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
