Her parents are in trouble, the bell boy (in German "Der Piccolo") has just eloped with the chamber maid, there's a military maneuver near, the officers will stay at the hotel, and there will be a ball soon. No wonder that her parents order Lo to work as maid and bell boy. (ring once: bellboy, ring twice maid. The work is heavy, but the change of clothes has some advantage: if the guest is becoming too intimate with the maid, he will be served by the bell hop. In the meantime, she falls in love with a young lieutenant, who is expecting his cousin, who turns out to be one of her friends - a chatterbox - from school, who soon thinks that the bell boy reminds her of somebody...
