The dispute escalated into fisticuffs and a gunfight; Sehgal got killed, and Thakur got seriously wounded. Sehgal's son swore to avenge his father's death and raced over to kill Thakur, who died before he could get there. Since then bitterness and anger has existed between these two families. Years later, Jai Singh Sehgal and Durga Digvijay fall in love with each other. Both Digvijay Thakur and Hari Singh Sehgal are against this marriage. Jai's brother Vishal manages to pacify his father and convinces him that it is in the best interest of both families that this marriage take place. Shortly thereafter, Vishal gets killed, and the only persons who could have killed him are Thakur's men. It is now up to Jai to avenge Vishal's death and sacrifice his love for Durga.
