General Jeff is a blind newsstand owner who sells racing tips by Stuffy, another boardinghouse resident, at his stand. Danny, who is secretly in love with Laura, dreams of hitting it big at the track so he can return home to his small town as a success. Things take a turn for the worse, however, when wealthy horse owner Stanley Shaw proposes to Laura, and Danny knows he can't give her what Shaw will be able to. Complications ensue.
