At a New Year's Eve party the two are separated in the festivities, and millionaire playboy Brian Alden meets her, and they start seeing each other. Against her brother's wishes, Orchid, at Alden's behest, takes charm school-type instructions on how to be a society lady, and she seems to be turning into a snob.
