To ward off a cold, he gets drunk. While in this condition, he mistakes his room and enters the bathroom next to Julia Paddington's boudoir and goes to sleep in the bathtub. The next morning Mrs. Paddington insists that he has compromised her daughter's reputation beyond repair unless he marries her. Julia accepts though engaged to Bradley. Rebuffed by their former sweethearts, Julia and Jack begin to find solace in each other. A chorus girl is hired to compromise Jack, but Julia grows jealous and decides to remain Mrs. Tanner.
