When her life becomes too miserable, she runs away and is befriended by old Tonio, the organ grinder. Sally accompanies Tonio on his travels, dancing to his music. One day she meets and become close friends with Billy, an orphaned farmhand. Suddenly, Tonio dies and a detective appears, employed by Carnsworth, a wealthy man searching for his long-lost child. The detective believes that Sally is that child, and she leaves Billy to unite with her father. Time passes and Sally is desperately missing Billy when Carnsworth unexpectedly discovers that a mistake has been made; Billy is his true heir. Billy joins his father and he and Sally marry.
