Her idea is carried out to the letter when Agnes arrives at Broncho Billy's office and discovers Evelyn with her arms around Broncho Billy. Agnes returns the engagement ring to Broncho Billy and leaves him. A few days later Broncho Billy is injured by an enemy. Fearing he will die Evelyn confesses to Agnes her underhanded method of trying to make Broncho Billy love her. Agnes rushes to Broncho Billy's bedside, kisses him fondly, and he dies in her arms.
