Frequently Asked Questions about IMDbPro Pricing and Product Changes

Last updated: 30 March 2010

Why is the price of IMDbPro increasing?

IMDbPro began serving the entertainment industry back in 2002. During these 8 years we have been able to maintain our same, low price, while we have added new features on a continuous basis. Some of the more popular and valuable improvements have been:

Even at the new price of $124.95 per year or $15.95 per month, IMDbPro remains the most affordable and complete entertainment resource available to industry professionals. That’s why IMDbPro has become the de facto resume lookup tool for our industry. Subscribers like you make IMDbPro possible, and we appreciate your continued support.

I have a monthly subscription to IMDbPro. How can I lower my cost?

If you have a monthly subscription to IMDbPro, consider turning your price increase into a price decrease, simply by switching to a yearly subscription instead. By doing this, you’ll actually wind up saving more than $30 per year over what you are currently paying! Simply login to IMDbPro.com and click on Your Account.

What is IMDb Resume, and why has it been added to IMDbPro?

IMDb Resume can help you find jobs and promote yourself, and it also adds a new, personalized dimension to IMDbPro. It's a great way to maximize both your industry and public profiles, by customizing your IMDb name page. For example, some of the things you can do with IMDb Resume are:

Agents, publicists, and managers are free to attach one of their clients’ resumes to their IMDbPro account, rather than attach their own name.

What’s new in IMDb Resume?

Major new benefits have been added to IMDb Resume in just the past several months, such as:

Can I link more than one IMDb Resume to my IMDbPro account?

Each IMDbPro account can be linked to a single IMDb Resume. If you want to manage more than one IMDb Resume, you should create additional IMDb account logins and signup for either IMDb Resume or IMDbPro (w/IMDb Resume) from within those accounts.

Can I cancel my IMDbPro subscription and still have access to my IMDb Resume?

If you cancel your IMDbPro subscription, you will continue to have access to IMDb Resume (and IMDbPro) until the IMDbPro subscription expires. Once you allow your IMDbPro subscription to expire, though, you will no longer have access to your IMDb Resume, and it will no longer be displayed on IMDb and IMDbPro.

You can always choose to subscribe to IMDb Resume separately. If you choose to subscribe to IMDb Resume between the time you cancel your IMDbPro subscription and the time it expires, then your IMDb Resume service will continue uninterrupted.

Either way, your IMDb Resume will remain tied to your login (email address), making it easy to start subscribing again to either IMDb Resume or IMDbPro (w/Resume), at a later time, thus making your IMDb Resume visible again. Between the time your IMDbPro subscription expires and the time you subscribe again, your IMDb Resume will not be visible on IMDb or IMDbPro.

I am already paying for both IMDbPro and IMDb Resume. What happens to my billing now that IMDb Resume is included within IMDbPro?

As one of our best customers, we’re glad to tell you that you will start saving some money through our new, combined product offering – even with the price of IMDbPro increasing. On April 29, 2010, we will simply cancel your billing for IMDb Resume and continue your billing for IMDbPro, but at the new IMDbPro price. Your billing period for IMDbPro will not change. If it is monthly, it will remain monthly. If it is yearly, it will remain yearly. Also, if you have more than a month left of your Resume subscription, we'll automatically credit that remaining value toward your IMDbPro subscription, by bumping out your next renewal date.

How much will you start saving? Lookup the amount you are currently paying for IMDb Resume in the first column and the amount you are currently paying for IMDbPro in the second column. By adding the yearly values in the first two columns and then subtracting the yearly value in the third column, you can see your yearly savings in the last column:

I have a Resume-Only or a Photo-Only subscription, which is being discontinued. How much more will I now be charged for the full IMDb Resume?

IMDb Resume will continue to be available to you at the regular price of $54.95 per year or $7.95 per month. This new price will be reflected in your first billing after the pricing transition on April 29, 2010.

New PriceOld PriceIncrease
54.9539.95$15.00 per year more, if you have Photo-Only
54.9529.95$25.00 per year more, if you have Resume-Only

You may have already noticed that the full-featured version of IMDb Resume has been available to you since November, 2009, even though your subscription price has been “grandfathered” until now. This includes a host of new features just added to IMDb Resume, such as:

If you are sure that you do not want to continue paying for all the benefits of IMDb Resume at this new price, you can always cancel your subscription prior to your next billing cycle. Alternatively, you may want to consider switching to our new $7.95 per month IMDb Resume billing option. For best value, also consider upgrading to IMDbPro for $124.95/year or $15.95/month, since IMDbPro now includes a complete subscription to IMDb Resume.

I am paying for IMDbPro on one credit card and IMDb Resume on a different one, even though they are tied to the same IMDb account (email address). How can I get my IMDb Resume subscription associated with my IMDbPro subscription, so that I am no longer paying for both?

You don’t have to do anything. As long as both your IMDbPro and IMDb Resume subscriptions are tied to the same IMDb account login (email address), we will cancel the IMDb Resume billing, while your IMDbPro account will be linked automatically to that existing Resume.
